My web platform of choice is WordPress? Why?
- WordPress is the most used CMS (Content Management System) in the world.

- Estimate 440 million searches on “WordPress” every year
- Over 40 translations of WordPress
- 22% of new U.S. registered domains run on WordPress {120,000 new domains are registered worldwide per day}
- 40,000 plugins (Lego blocks) Range in price from free to $200 or so.
- Thousands of themes. WordPress Themes are a group of files that work together to create the design and functionality of a WordPress site. They range in price from free to several hundred dollars.
- Most new WP themes are called ‘responsive designs’ which basically means they are ‘mobile friendly’ as far as the search engines are concerned. That is a good thing.
- 50,000 new WP sites are added daily
- WordPress itself is FREE. Just download and go to town…with the appropriate theme and plugins, of course.
- WordPress is designed to be SEO-friendly. Unique title pages, permalinks, architecture. Search engines love WordPress sites. There are some highly regarded SEO plugins for WordPress.
- Website owners can be taught to edit their own content. They can blog with new content. General editing does not require a web developer.
- There are thousands of WordPress web developers out there. Not so good for me. {This is what I call…’What happens if my web developer is hit by a truck’…issue.}
